Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> DATE: 9/19/2013 <br /> RE: Approval to Expend Partial Forfeiture (DOJ) Funds to purchase a <br /> Citywide Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System in all City Parks <br /> and Government Buildings, Hire a Professional Security <br /> Consultant to assist with the CCTV Project, Purchase four (4) <br /> Microsoft Tablets, and ratify the purchase of a new canine (K9) <br /> Police Dog, in an amount not to exceed$443,125.00 <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve the expenditure of partial <br /> Federal (DOJ) Forfeiture Funds, previously awarded to the Police Department as <br /> the results of investigative participation in forfeiture and seizure cases. These <br /> funds are permissible by law to be spent for the purchases of police equipment <br /> and other law enforcement activities. It is requested that we be permitted to <br /> utilize up to $443,125.00 of said funds on deposit for such purpose. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department would use the requested funds to <br /> design, install and implement a Citywide Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) <br /> System in all City Parks and Government Buildings, Hire a Professional Security <br /> Consultant to assist and oversee the citywide CCTV Project, purchase four (4) <br /> Microsoft Surface Pro Tablets and Accessories to test the operational <br /> functionality of our police software on tablets, and ratify the purchase of a new <br /> canine (K9) Police Dog and accessories. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> • Chief's Certification <br /> • Resolution <br /> Agenda Item No.IOF <br /> Date 9/19/2013 <br /> 131 <br />
