Arias, Chief Information Officer <br /> DATE: 9/19/2013 <br /> RE: Donation of Surplus Computer Equipment <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve this Resolution authorizing <br /> the City Manager to donate the surplus computer equipment described below to <br /> the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, South Florida Digital Alliance, and Sant <br /> La Haitian Neighborhood Center. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City is in possession of a significant amount of surplus computers and <br /> computer monitors. These are older systems that have been decommissioned <br /> over the last two to three years, and are no longer viable for business use in the <br /> City. <br /> The Miami-Dade County Public Schools have reviewed the complete list of <br /> equipment below, and could utilize the DELL Optiplex 755 computers. <br /> The Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center's mission is to empower, strengthen, <br /> and stabilize South Florida's Haitian community through access for free services <br /> • and resources, to ensure its successful integration. Five DELL D630 laptops will <br /> be donated to this organization. <br /> The South Florida Digital Alliance was incorporated as a non-profit entity in May <br /> of 2009 under the name of the Miami-Dade Broadband Coalition.
