Arias, Chief Information Officer <br /> DATE: 10/17/2013 <br /> RE: Approval for Sungard Purchase Authority not to Exceed <br /> $59,000.00 for FY 2013-2014 <br /> • <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution <br /> authorizing the City Manager to expend budgeted funds, in an amount not to <br /> exceed $59,000.00, on the purchase of software licensing and/or products from <br /> Sungard. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City entered into an agreement with Sungard in May 2006 (via Resolution <br /> 2006-919) for the purchase of a state- of-the-art Police computer system (called <br /> OSSI) that provides the Police Department with a Computer Aided Dispatch <br /> (CAD) System, Records Management System (RMS), Mobile Computing <br /> Terminals (MCT) and a Mobile Field Reporting (MFR) System. This proprietary <br /> software solution has proven to be the leader in public safety software in Miami- <br /> Dade County as well as many other cities and states throughout the country. <br /> This purchase authority allows staff to contract with the vendor for the annual <br /> software maintenance and support for these critical Police Department systems. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> Sungard Public Sector, Inc. is also contracted by cities such as; Aventura, North <br /> • Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Dora!, Pinecrest, Miami-Dade School Police, <br /> Broward Sheriffs Office. <br /> Agenda Item No IOM <br /> Date 10/17/2013 <br /> 231 <br />
