Grandinetti, Police Captain <br />DATE: 11/21/2013 <br />RE: Approval to ratify a change order in the amount of $4,940.00 for <br />the upgrade of two (2) ALPR short range cameras to long range <br />cameras. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution <br />authorizing a change order in the amount of $4,940.00 for the upgrade of two (2) <br />Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) short range cameras to long range <br />cameras <br />REASONS: <br />During the installation phase of the Automatic License Plate Recognition System, <br />it was determined that two (2) of the twenty -three (23) cameras installed were not <br />meeting the necessary specifications needed to capture accurate tag reads. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Due to the distance between two (2) of the fixed mounted cameras and the target <br />read location, it was necessary to upgrade these cameras to a "Long Range" <br />type camera. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />® COPS Technology Grant #201 OCKWX0481 $ 86,809.14 <br />Agenda Item No. IOE <br />Date n1212013 <br />136 <br />
