RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 218 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING IN -KIND SUPPORT TO CRAFTY BRAINS TO HOST "THE BAKE ABOUT AUTISM" EVENT ON APRIL 6, 2014 FOR USE OF HERITAGE PARK, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND TWENTY DOLLARS ($1,020.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Crafty Brains, in cooperation with the University of Miami Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and Autism Speaks, wishes to host an autism awareness and fundraising event at Heritage Park on Sunday, April 6, 2014. and WHEREAS, Crafty Brains plan to invite local pastry chefs to donate all kinds of desserts and the money collected from those sales will be donated to Autism organizations, and WHEREAS, this event. "The Bake About Autism " will also include face painting, arts and crafts, dancers, and a DJ with minimal staff to maintain the park and restrooms during the event; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide in -kind support to Crafty Brains for free use of Heritage Park for "The Bake About Autism " event, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Twenty Dollars ($1,020.00). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in- kind support of free use of Heritage Park for Crafty Brains to host "The Bake About Autism" event on Sunday. April 6, 2014, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Twenty Dollars ($1,020.00). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
