RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 'Z;2 QO <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF <br />ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) FROM <br />THE DEZER FAMILY FOR A COMPLETE PLAYGROUND AT <br />INTRACOASTAL PARK TO BE NAMED " DEZER FAMILY <br />PLAYGROUND"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Intracoastal Park, a linear park south of Sunny Isles Boulevard, is designed <br />to be a small neighborhood park for the residents of the south end of Sunny Isles Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, the Dezer Family, developers of several condominium towers in Sunny <br />Isles Beach. recognizes the need for community parks for the residents enjoyment, and have <br />offered to partner with the City by donating the playground to this new park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Dezer Family wishes to donate to the City One Hundred Fifty Thousand <br />Dollars ($150,000.00) from the Dezer Family Foundation at the Jewish Communal Fund through <br />the Sunny Isles Beach School Trust Fund, for a complete playground at Intracoastal Park, and in <br />honor of their generous donation, the playground will be named the "Dezer Family Playground "; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City exercises its authority to accept donations as a non -profit <br />municipal corporation. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br />Section 1. Approval of Accepting the Donation and Naming the Playground. The City <br />Commission hereby approves accepting the donation of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars <br />$150,000.00) from the Dezer Family through the Dezer Family Foundation at the Jewish <br />Communal Fund for a complete playground at Intracoastal Park to be named "Dezer Family <br />Playground ". <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />adoption. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20`x' day of February 2014. <br />orman S.
