RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 7-90g, <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RANKING THE SUBMITTALS <br /> FOR CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR GOLDEN <br /> SHORES PUMP STATION REHABILITATION (CCNA) IN <br /> RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS ("RFQ") NO. <br /> 18-11-01 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO BEGIN <br /> NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE - TOP RANKED FIRM IN <br /> ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AN <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE TOP RANKED FIRM, PROVIDED SAID <br /> AGREEMENT IS FIRST APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGAL <br /> SUFFICIENCY BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL <br /> THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City is desirous of securing a firm to provide professional engineering <br /> consulting services for the Golden Shores Pump Station Rehabilitation; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City issued and advertised RFQ No. 18-11-01 for Consulting Engineering <br /> Services for Golden Shores Pump Station Rehabilitation (CCNA), for which four (4) responses <br /> were received; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due consideration and evaluation, the City Manager recommends to the <br /> City Commission the ranked firms to provide professional engineering consulting services to the <br /> City as follows: <br /> 1) Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. <br /> 2) CES Consultants <br /> 3) CAS —Craig A. Smith & Associates <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation of the City <br /> Manager and to authorize the City Manager or his designee to negotiate an agreement with the top <br /> ranked firm, Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc., and then with the next ranked firms, should <br /> negotiations with Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. be unsuccessful; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is authorized to begin negotiating with the first ranked firm, Calvin, <br /> Giordano & Associates, Inc., to provide professional engineering consulting services for the <br /> Golden Shores Pump Station Rehabilitation, and if the City and Calvin, Giordano & Associates, <br /> Inc., cannot reach an agreement on a contract, the City reserves the right to terminate negotiations <br /> with Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. and begin negotiating with the second ranked firm, CES <br /> Consultants, until a contract acceptable to the City has been executed and approved by the City <br /> Commission. If the City is unable to reach an agreement with the second ranked firm CES <br /> Consultants, the City reserves the right to undertake negotiations with the third ranked firm of <br /> CAS —Craig A.
