Edelcup <br />3/20/2014 <br />Contribution and Naming a Park Bench in Honor of Dan Palmer <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />This Resolution is attached for your consideration. <br />REASONS: <br />Dan Palmer, who has been a friend to the City of Sunny Isles Beach since its' <br />incorporation in 1997 through the Sunny Isles Beach /Community Newspaper, <br />has passed away peacefully. He will always be remembered for his humorous <br />"Wanderings and Ponderings" column in the Community Newspapers. In Dan's <br />memory, the City donated $100.00 to the Aventura Marketing Council Education <br />Foundation which supports one of Dan's favorite events, the "Young Stars <br />Showcase ". <br />The City would also like to name a park bench in Heritage Park as the "Dan <br />Palmer Park Bench" in honor and appreciation of his dedication to the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />• Resolution <br />• Certificate of Dedication <br />Agenda Item No. 10F <br />Date 3/20/2014 <br />148 <br />
