RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 2 (03 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS, <br /> AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE <br /> HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE CITY, DURING THE <br /> SUMMER RECESS PERIOD FROM THE LAST CITY COMMISSION <br /> MEETING IN JULY 2019 THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR <br /> COMMISSION MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2019, SUBJECT TO <br /> AFTER-THE-FACT RATIFICATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 19, 2019 <br /> CITY COMMISSION MEETING; REQUIRING LEGAL REVIEW BY <br /> THE CITY ATTORNEY FOR SAID CONTRACTS AND <br /> AGREEMENTS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between <br /> July 19, 2019 and the next regular meeting on September 19, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, there may be new or existing contracts that require approval during the time <br /> period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2019 and the first regular meeting in <br /> September 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager <br /> to enable him to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the <br /> health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City Commission <br /> meeting in July 2019 and the first regular meeting in September 2019, and requiring legal review <br /> by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements prior to execution by the City Manager; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first <br /> regular City Commission meeting on September 19, 2019, seeking after-the-fact ratification of <br /> any actions relating to the foretasted authorization. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> Section 1. Authority of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is hereby <br /> authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the <br /> health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last City <br /> Commission meeting in July 2019 through the first regular City Commission meeting in <br /> September 2019, subject to after-the-fact ratification at the September 19, 2019 City Commission <br /> meeting, and requiring legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements prior <br /> to execution by the City Manager. <br /> Section 2.
