RESOLUTION NO. 2014- —k ZSZ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING IN -KIND SUPPORT TO THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF ISRAEL FOR THE "ISRAEL 66TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION" EVENT ON MAY 11, 2014 FOR THE USE OF A GENERATOR AND CITY PERSONNEL, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Florida - Israel Friendship League and the Israeli American Council (IAC) with Consulate General of Israel are presenting the "Israel 66th Independence Day Celebration" event at Oleta Park on Sunday, May 11, 2014; and WHEREAS, the Consulate General of Israel has requested use of a generator and City personnel; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting this event with an in -kind donation of free use of a generator, as well as providing City personnel from the Public Works Department, as well as Police Officers to provide a motorcycle and bicycle escort, in an estimated amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in- kind support to the Consulate General of Israel for the "Israel 66th Independence Day Celebration" event on Sunday, May 11, 2014 for free use of a generator and City personnel assisting in this event, in an estimated amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00). Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
