ORDINANCE NO. 2014- q Z3 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br /> FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 265-46 (A) (17) TO MODIFY <br /> THE VEHICLE PLATFORM REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING <br /> FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE <br /> CODE; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, mechanical and robotic parking systems are intended to be used within <br /> parking garages in order to increase parking capacity; and <br /> WHEREAS, a number of development projects in the City are currently using <br /> mechanical and robotic parking systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to modify the requirements for the platform requirements <br /> for mechanical parking systems to eliminate barriers to competition in the garage market; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby <br /> ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this <br /> Ordinance upon adoption thereof <br /> Section 2. Amendment. Chapter 265 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> SECTION 265-46.—OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING STANDARDS. <br /> § 265-46 (A)(17) Mechanical and Robotic Parking. <br /> (c) Mechanical Parking Lifts must also satisfy the following conditions: <br /> 11 The parking lift platform must be fully load bearing and must be sealed and of <br /> sufficient width and length •- .. :' . . - - - - .. - - . -- <br /> vehicle on the platform to prevent dripping liquids or debris onto the vehicle below. <br /> [4] All parking lifts shall ei4y be operated using a spring loaded Underwriters Laboratories <br /> (UL) approved Key Switch Control. No push button is allowed; <br /> Section 3. Severability. The provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable and if <br /> any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance shall for any reason be held to be <br />
