District area covers approximately 2,960 acres. The stormwater system includes culverts,
pipe networks, swales, lakes, canals, and headwalls. Craven Thompson prepared a Stormwater Master
Plan that addressed current and future drainage needs for the City of North Lauderdale. We reviewed the
City’s drainage atlas, as-builts, design plans, documents as well as SFWMD permits prepared for the City.
In addition, we developed a digital terrain model (DTM) for the City using 2007 Florida DEM LiDAR. We
performed an operational analysis of all sub-basins, control structures, and outfalls in, and the
associated South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and North Lauderdale Water Control
District permit requirements. The City was analyzed through the creation of an existing ICPR computer
model, and a proposed model implementing various proposed improvements. Craven Thompson
prepared a Stormwater Master Plan Report that compiles all findings and analysis of the existing and
proposed drainage system within the City. The report includes tables, charts, maps, calculations, cost
estimates and recommendations for potential improvements (capital improvements.
N-29A Canal Connector Project | Davie, Florida | Senior Engineer
The project includes the construction of 1,407 linear feet of 72” diameter culvert equalizer, connecting
the Central Broward Water Control District's (CBWCD) N-29A Canal to the N-22 Canal. The project also
includes demolition, culvert & headwall construction, and the restoration of stabilized pathway, sidewalk
and asphalt roadway, along with other minor improvements associated with the proposed project.
Comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan | Aventura, Florida| Senior Engineer
Craven Thompson’s services under this project included: Preparing GPS Network / AutoCAD drawing of
City’s Stormwater System: locating and entering data on stormwater structures in the City; creation of a
GPS Control Network for the City that can be utilized by any surve yor or contractor in the future for both
horizontal and vertical control. Services also involved the creation of an ICPR Software model of the
existing stormwater system including the integration of previous models performed for the area. A
stormwater capital improvement plan is being created based on the results of the model.
Hallandale Beach NE & SW Quadrant Drainage Study & Improvements | Hallandale Beach, Florida |
Project Manager – While with another firm, Mr. Taylor modeled a proposed system of two pump stations
connected to eight wells each (for a total of sixteen wells) while maintaining the existing gravity wells and
gravity outfall. These sixteen new wells will be pressurized with fifteen (15) feet of head in order to
produce the necessary discharge into the G3 aquifer. A new storm sewer collection system was designed
and permitted, along with a water quality treatment system for the 200-acre tributary area. Mr. Taylor’s
work also included acquiring eight million dollars ($8,000,000.00) in FEMA HMGP grants for the project.
SW 36th Street | Davie, Florida | Senior Engineer
The 3,300-foot length of SW 36th Street was designed as a two (2) lane divided boulevard from College
Avenue to SW 76th Avenue within a 75-foot public right-of-way width.
