BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />The City of Oakland Park recently converted an underutilized piece of land used primarily for the storage of <br />stormwater runoff into a park demonstrating the region’s various ecological zones with the use of plant <br />selection and educational signage. The site continues to support stormwater runoff, but now connects a string <br />of County and City parks, further providing open space and natural habitats for the community. <br />Stunson Nature Trail is located in the Royal Palm Acres Neighborhood <br />in the City of Oakland Park. <br />Park improvements included: <br />▪ Created an educational experience along a walking trail that <br />emphasizes the primary environmental zones <br />▪ Enhanced wetland area <br />▪ New landscaping and irrigation <br />▪ Creation of earthen berms <br />▪ Decorative fence with landscape buffer along NE 38th St. <br />Craven Thompson provided Surveying, Civil Engineering, Landscape <br />Architectural services.
