We are <br />submitting this response for consideration by the City Clerk office in the type of work of Surveyors and Mapping. <br /> <br />BE is a full-service Surveying and Engineering firm serving the South Florida community since our inception in <br />1898. We are certified as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County, School <br />District of Palm Beach County, School Board of Broward County, Broward College, Florida Department of <br />Transportation (FDOT) and South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). (Copies are attached) <br /> <br />We understand our responsibility to the community and know that to remain successful we must do the right <br />thing, always. Biscayne Engineering Company leads by example and insists on quality work every time. BE has a <br />long history leading exceptional teams to provide quality professional services to our private and public sector <br />clients. BE provides general surveying and mapping services (Boundary Surveys, Mapping, GIS, Platting, <br />Topographic Surveys, Flood Plain Studies, LiDAR, etc.) throughout South Florida, and has done so since our <br />inception. We currently prime multiple surveying services contracts, including municipal contracts such as the City <br />of Miami, City of Miami Gardens, City of Hialeah, City of Delray Beach and the City of Deerfield Beach, City of <br />Plantation as well as state contracts with FDOT (Districts 4 and 6) and South Florida Water Management District <br />(SFWMD). <br /> <br />From our long and varied history in surveying and engineering, BE has gained vast experience and expertise in <br />virtually every aspect of the professions, from tried and true practices to the newest applicable technologies . BE <br />understands the importance of developing a strong QA/QC plan with redundancy and sufficient independent <br />checks to ensure that the final product is both comprehensive and reliable. The numerous successfully completed <br />projects for several cities, as well as Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and various municipalities has <br />solidified our reputation as the leading Surveying Firm in South Florida. <br /> <br />Biscayne Engineering Company currently employs 52 people, with offices in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida. <br />Biscayne Engineering’s Miami location will be serving as main location for this contract. Mike Bartholomew, PSM <br />will act as the primary contact with the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Mr. Mike Bartholomew, President of BE and a <br />Professional Surveyor and Mapper with 32 years of experience, has served as a Project Manager on large scale <br />government surveying contracts (including FDOT road surveying contracts using conventional and static terrestrial <br />LiDAR), managing both large and small teams. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1
