C Cover Letter and Executive Summary <br />Terracon's staff and resources provide maximum flexibility to meet our clients' scheduling needs. The <br />nature of our work requires us to typically provide services on an expedited basis. Our typical backlog is <br />made up of many short duration assignments and therefore, our workload varies on a weekly basis. <br />Furthermore, long-term contracts are of indefinite quantity making workload dependent upon individual <br />work orders, and difficult to predict. <br />The Terracon Team workload capacity is sufficiently large to enable us to respond successfully to <br />emergency situations and quick turnaround projects. Based on our prior experience, we believe our <br />present and future workload capacity is more than adequate to conduct the required services for the <br />contract in a prompt (timely), efficient manner. <br />TRUSTED PERFORMANCE: One of Terracon's core businesses is to service local governments <br />through continuing services contracts (CSCs). Statewide we hold over 125 CSCs (environmental, <br />facilities, geotechnical, construction testing and inspections) with approximately 90 different <br />governmental agencies including state, county, and local governments. Terracon has an outstanding <br />history of contract extensions and re -selection under these contracts. We also warrant and represent <br />that during the life of our contract with you, we will maintain in good standing of all required licenses, <br />certifications, and permits required under federal, state and local laws necessary to perform commercial <br />due diligence services. <br />LOCAL OFFICE AND ASSIGNED STAFF: <br />Terracon will service this contract from our Miami Lakes office, which is located at 16200 NW 59th Avenue <br />(Miami Lakes) or about 12 miles (23 minutes) door-to-door from your office to ours. Our Miami Lakes <br />office is presently staffed with 19 employees that reside in Miami -Dade County. The Terracon Team is <br />comprised of professionals with degrees in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geology, marine <br />geology and geophysics, biology, archaeology, sustainability, social sciences (urban planning and <br />geography), and construction management. They are supported by trained, experienced and certified <br />environmental, lab and field technicians and subcontractors. The Terracon Team is presented to you in <br />the organizational chart provided in Section E of this submittal. Our key staff members are highly <br />experienced professionals as detailed below: <br />Lucas Barroso-Giachetti, P.E., CHMM will serve as the Contract Manager and Project Manager for <br />Environmental Engineering. A resident of the City of North Miami Beach, he will be the single point <br />of contact for this contract and will be available 24/7 to all City staff and their consultants. Lucas brings <br />more than 19 years of engineering and consulting experience, with over 13 years focusing on public <br />and private sector projects in Miami -Dade County. Lucas will be responsible for allocating the ample <br />environmental resources of the company to meet and fulfill the environmental engineering tasks <br />required under this contract.
