RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - _3" <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE EXPENDITURE <br />OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH ENVIRO-MASTER OF SOUTH <br />FLORIDA FOR DISINFECTING SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED ONE HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($110,000.00); <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on March 9, 2020, Florida State Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of <br />Emergency for all of Florida due to COVID-19; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2020, Miami -Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez <br />declared a State of Emergency for Miami -Dade County due to COVID-19; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization ("WHO") declared the <br />COVID-19 outbreak ("COVID-19") a pandemic; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 12, 2020, and in accordance with Chapter 29 of the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach Code, the City Manager declared a local emergency due to COVID-19; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, and its facilities and assets, are threatened by <br />COVID-19 because of the apparent ability of the virus to spread rapidly among humans; and <br />WHEREAS, due to its highly infectious and lethal nature, COVID-19 constitutes a clear <br />and present threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the employees and visitors of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was in need of a contractor to provide disinfecting services of its <br />facilities and assets, including vehicles, shuttle buses, and bus shelters ("Services"); and <br />WHEREAS, in March 2020 the City Manager authorized the expenditure of funds with <br />Enviro-Master of South Florida ("Contractor") to provide the Services; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13 (D) of the City's Code, these Services are <br />exempt from the bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62; and <br />WHEREAS, the City now wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds, in an <br />amount not to exceed One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000.00), with Enviro-Master of <br />South Florida for disinfection services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Ratification Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby <br />ratifies the expenditure of budgeted funds, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Ten <br />Thousand Dollars ($110,000.00), with Enviro-Master of South Florida for disinfection services. <br />R2020 Ratify Expend Funds w EnviroMaster Pagel of 2 <br />
