The aim of this project is to protect <br />neighborhoods and infrastructure from future storm surge and rising sea levels, as <br />well as improve recreational opportunities and accessibility to the park and <br />waterfront. <br /> <br />Under this contract, H&H inspected seven existing pedestrian bridges to determine <br />their structural viability. Based on our findings, we are recommending rehabilitation <br />or replacement in conjunction with the other aspects of the Coastal Resiliency <br />program, including berms and other landscaping improvements. <br />We will be providing conceptual, preliminary and final design services for two new <br />bridges as well as ramp modifications to a third bridge in order to further enhance <br />pedestrian access to and from the waterfront on the Lower East Side. The bridge <br />locations will be determined based upon several factors in order to provide the <br />most benefit to the local communities. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />F-18
