Russo, City Manager <br />FROM: <br />Susan Simpson, Assistant City Manager <br />DATE: <br />11 /19/2020 <br />Resolution Approving the First Amendment to the <br />RE: <br />Agreement with Calvin, Giordano and Associates, Inc. <br />for Consulting Services Relating to the Collins Avenue <br />A1A Decorative Streetlight Project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached <br />Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is required by FDOT to utilize a third <br />party for Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for the <br />Collins Avenue A1A Streetlighting Project. Through Resolution <br />Number 2017-2771, the City entered into an agreement, Contract No. <br />0312-147, with Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc. ('CGA') to <br />provide these services in the amount of $176,000.00. <br />Due to unforeseen underground conditions and additional work <br />required by FDOT resulting in time delays that were out of the control <br />of the City, the funds allocated for the original contract have been <br />expended prior to the project completion. It is estimated that additional <br />consulting services relating to the Collins Avenue A1A Decorative <br />Streetlight Project will be required in the amount of $126,977.03 to <br />complete this project. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Funds have been appropriated in account no. 300-5-5390-465000- <br />80004. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Description <br />Resolution <br />Agreement <br />Item Number: 10.L. <br />
