Item 4 is additional effort required in response to <br />FOOT review comments on the 60% submission. <br />1. FOOT reviews: <br />-Meetings to explain bridge strategy to FOOT representatives <br />-FOOT approval process for firm and individuals <br />-FOOT review to confirm classification of bridge structure (4.2.2 vs. 4.2.3) <br />-Responding to FDOT's questions and concems related to the bridge structure <br />Multiple submissions to and reviews by FDOT, as opposed to a single permit review typical of the <br />building department. <br />2. Third party peer review: <br />-Meeting with multiple potential reviewers to outline design approach <br />-Responding to peer reviewer questions for clarification, etc <br />-Presenting detailed structural design to third party peer review team <br />-Reviewing and responding to peer review comments <br />-Incorporating peer review comments <br />3, Application of FOOT and AASHTO reouirements in lieu of FBC: <br />-Wind loading is per AASHTO as opposed to ASCE7-10, the referencend standard per FBC <br />-Load factors and load combinations are more extensive in AASHTO than FBG, resulting in more data <br />input for analysis models and more data to analyze through program output <br />-FOOT prohibits certain types of detailing or construction, requiring alternate approaches to <br />otherwise typical detailing <br />-FOOT strict maintenance requirements: <br />+Minimum clearance required inside of box girder, limiting geometric options <br />+Access panels through flanges and diaphragms. <br />+Special steel connection details required due. to access openings <br />925 Fort Stockton Drive, Suite 2001 San L.'aa,a CA 92103 1 T 619.550:5900 1 www.ThomtonTomesetti.com <br />1/3 <br />
