Russo, City Manager
FROM:
Claudia C. Hasbun, Planning and Zoning Director
DATE:
2/18/2021
RE:
Town Center North Public Engagement Report
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your approval
REASONS:
The Town Center North Public Engagement Report is part of the plan
of action approved by the City to resolve the inconsistencies between
the Comprehensive Plan and the Land Development Regulations
(Zoning). The public engagement started in January 2020 and was
finalized in November 2020, during the process we engaged with
approximate 600 participants, we sent out 81 social media posts and
25 emails and a unique and dedicated webpage was created for the
project. This webpage was viewed approximately 2,500 times.
As mentioned, the report contains a summary of events, public
comments, analysis of the current regulations, and findings. As a
result of the process, four strategy options for the Town Center North
Overlay are being proposed. The options are labeled as "Let it Be",
"Toss it Away", "A Narrower Focus", and "A New Vision". The city is
tasked with selecting one of the strategy options to be applied to the
Town Center North Overlay, so the regulatory framework
(Comprehensive Plan and Zoning amendments) can commence.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description
Resolution
How to Obtain Report
Item Number: 10.G.
