RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - Z y A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SPEND UP TO EIGHTY -FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($85,000.00) WITH ORNAMENTAL HOME DESIGN, INC. ( "OHD, INC. ") AS SOLE SOURCE VENDOR, FOR CUSTOM GATE FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City has established a standard gate with City logo to be used in City parks and facilities; and WHEREAS, Ornamental Home Design, Inc. ( "OHD, Inc. ") designed and fabricated the signs and has provided competitive pricing with exceptional project and service; and WHEREAS, in order to complete the replacement of damaged and broken gates at Senator Gwen Margolis Park (4), a new entrance gate at Town Center Park, the gate for the William Lehman Wall Project, and the potential gate at Arlen House, the City is requesting an additional Sixty -Two Thousand Seven Hundred Forty -One Dollars ($62,741.00) over the existing expenses of Twenty -Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty -Nine Dollars ($22,259.00) for a total not to exceed amount with OHD, Inc. of Eighty -Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to spend up to Eighty -Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) with Ornamental Home Design ( "OHD, Inc. ") as sole source vendor, for custom gate fabrication and installation. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
