RESOLUTION NO. 2014--2235 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING INVITATION TO BID NO. 14 -03 -01 TO CHABAD LUBAVITCH RUSSIAN CENTER OF SOUTH FLORIDA, INC. FOR CITY OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 500 SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City ") issued an Invitation to Bid No. 14 -03 -01 on March 28, 2014, for the sale of City owned property located at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 (the "Property "); and WHEREAS, the City received one bid in response on April 28, 2014, from Chabad Lubavitch Russian Center of South Florida, Inc. ( "Chabad ") in the amount of Three Million Three Hundred Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($3,300,770.00); and WHEREAS, the City Manager has analyzed the bid response from Chabad based on price, proposed land use development and the general evaluation criteria set forth in Section 62 -8 of the City Code, and recommends that the City accept the bid submitted by Chabad; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to award Invitation to Bid No. 14 -03 -01 to Chabad for the sale of property located at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard in the amount of Three Million Three Hundred Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($3,300,770.00). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Award of Invitation to Bid No. 14- 03 -01. The City Commission hereby approves the award of Bid No. 14 -03 -01 for the sale of City owned property located at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard, to Chabad Lubavitch Russian Center of South Florida, Inc. in the amount of Three Million Three Hundred Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($3,300,770.00). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and City Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution, including but not limited to, negotiating terms and conditions of a purchase and sale agreement between the City and Chabad Lubavitch Russian Center of South Florida, Inc. for the sale of the City owned property located at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard, in the amount of Three Million Three Hundred Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($3,300,770.00). Said purchase and sale agreement must be approved by the City Commission by July 17, 2014. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. Page 1 of 2
