<br />02510 - 2/5 <br />E. Slip form. <br /> <br />2.05 REINFORCING AND WELDED WIRE FABRIC <br />A. Joint reinforcing and welded wire fabric shall conform to the requirements of Division <br />3. <br />2.06 PREFORMED JOINT FILLER <br />A. Preformed joint filler shall be sponge rubber or cork and conform to the <br />requirements of AASHTO Designated MI 53, Type 1 or 11. <br />2.04 CURING COMPOUND <br />A. Curing Compound shall conform to the requirements of AASHTO M148, Type 1. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 SUBGRADE CONDITION <br />A. The finished subgrade shall be maintained in a smooth, compact condition and any <br />areas which are disturbed prior to placing of the concrete shall be restored at no <br />additional cost to the OWNER. <br />B. The subgrade shall be moist at the time the concrete is placed. Water shall be <br />uniformly applied ahead of the paving operations as directed by the ENGINEER. If <br />the CONTRACTOR does not maintain the subgrade in the required moist condition, <br />a polyethylene sheet vapor barrier will be required between the subgrade and the <br />concrete. <br />C. The subgrade shall be accurately trimmed to the required elevation with a %-inch <br />tolerance. High areas shall be trimmed to proper elevation. Low areas may be filled <br />with suitable material and compacted to the specified density or filled with concrete <br />integrally with the placing of the pavement. Boulders, rocks or obstructions larger <br />than 1-inch diameter shall be removed to minimum depth of 6-inches below finished <br />subgrade. The subgrade shall be compacted at optimum moisture content to 98 <br />percent of maximum dry density in accordance with ASTM Dl557 method D. <br /> <br />3.02 CONCRETE WALKS AND RAMPS: The CONTRACTOR shall construct concrete <br />sidewalks and ramps as specified in FDOT Specifications - Section 522 where shown on <br />the Drawings, as required by the ADA requirements or as necessary to restore existing <br />conditions. <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish a template and shall thoroughly check the <br />subgrade prior to depositing concrete. Sidewalks shall be given a light broom <br />finish. <br />B. All damage to sidewalk as a result of work under this Contract shall be repaired <br />in a manner satisfactory to the ENGINEER and at no additional cost to the <br />OWNER. The repair shall include all work as specified herein. <br />
