RESOLUTION NO. 2021-'Zā€” <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, RANKING THE SUBMITTALS FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING AND <br />ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE TO BE LOCATED <br />ACROSS COLLINS AVENUE AT 174TH STREET (CCNA) IN RESPONSE TO REQUEST <br />FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 20-10-01, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE TOP RANKED FIRM IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />STATE LAW; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO <br />AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TOP RANKED FIRM, PROVIDED SAID AGREEMENT IS <br />FIRST APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGAL SUFFICIENCY BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City is desirous of securing a firm to provide professional engineering and <br />architectural services ("Services") for the pedestrian bridge to be located across Collins Avenue <br />at 1741h Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Request for Qualifications No. 20-10-01 for the <br />Services, for which four (4) responses were received; and <br />WHEREAS, after due consideration and evaluation, the City Manager recommends to the <br />City Commission the ranked firms to provide the Services to the City as follows: <br />1) Finley Engineering Group ("Finley") <br />2) Hardesty & Hannover ("H&H") <br />3) EAC Consulting, Inc. ("EAC') <br />4) Pedelta, Inc. ("Pedelta"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation of the City <br />Manager and authorizes him or his designee to begin negotiating with the first ranked firm of <br />Finley, to provide the Services; and <br />WHEREAS, if the City Manager is unable to reach an agreement with Finley, the City <br />reserves the right to terminate negotiations and begin negotiating with the second ranked firm <br />of H&H, until an agreement acceptable to the City has been executed; and <br />WHEREAS, if the City Manager is unable to reach an agreement with the second ranked <br />firm of H&H, the City reserves the right to terminate negotiations and begin negotiating with the <br />third ranked firm of EAC, until an agreement acceptable to the City has been executed; and <br />WHEREAS, if the City Manager is unable to reach an agreement with the third ranked firm <br />of EAC, the City reserves the right to terminate negotiations and begin negotiating with the fourth <br />ranked firm of Pedelta, until an agreement acceptable to the City has been executed. <br />@BCL@80048E14.docx Page 1 of 3 <br />
