RESOLUTION NO. 2014-_2,-L7 o A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO MIAMI -DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS, BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF SOUTH FLORIDA, AND SANT LA HAITIAN NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a tradition of participating and assisting various social service programs; and WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Florida, and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center, whose mission is to empower, strengthen, and stabilize South Florida's Haitian community through access for free services and resources, to ensure its successful integration, have all expressed a desire to utilize certain computer equipment; and WHEREAS, the City is in possession of surplus computers and computer monitors that have been decommissioned over the past year, and are no longer viable for business use in the City and wishes to donate them to the Miami -Dade County Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Florida, and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Donation of Surplus Computer Equipment. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of surplus computer equipment listed on Attachment "A" to the Miami - Dade County Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Florida, and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
