Arias, Chief Information Officer <br />DATE: 7/17/2014 <br />RE: Donation of Surplus Computer Equipment <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve this Resolution authorizing <br />the City Manager to donate the surplus computer equipment described below to <br />the Miami -Dade County Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South <br />Florida, and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center. <br />REASONS: <br />The City is in possession of surplus computers and monitors, older systems that <br />have been decommissioned over the past year, and are no longer viable for <br />business use in the City. <br />The Miami -Dade County Public Schools has reviewed the complete list of <br />equipment below, and would like 3 of the Optiplex 755 desktops, 5 of the D630 <br />laptops, 3 of the Optiplex 780 desktops, half of the E6400 laptops (15), one <br />Poweredge 2950 server, and two APC UPS's, for use at the Norman S. Edelcup / <br />SIB K -8 School. <br />The Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center's mission is to empower, strengthen, <br />and stabilize South Florida's Haitian community through access for free services <br />and resources, to ensure its successful integration. Five DELL D630 laptops will <br />be donated to this organization. <br />Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami (BBBSGM) has a long and successful <br />Agenda Item No. IOK <br />Date 7(1712014 <br />470 <br />
