RESOLUTION NO. 2021- 32-53 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A 2023 FREIGHTLINER 114SD <br />CONVENTIONAL CHASSIS SET BACK AXEL VEHICLE FROM SBL FREIGHTLINER <br />PURSUANT TO FLORIDA SHERIFF'S ASSOCIATION CO-OP PURCHASING <br />PROGRAM CONTRACT NO. FS20-VEH18.0, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO DOLLARS <br />($126,622.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") is desirous of maintaining the beauty of <br />the City through specialized projects requiring the use of a 114SD Conventional Chassis Set Back <br />Axle Vehicle ("Dump Truck"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City's current dump truck is at the end of its useful life cycle; and <br />WHEREAS, City Staff determined that the purchase of a new truck is in the best interest <br />of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, SBL Freightliner ("Vendor"), a leading provider of top-of-the-line bucket <br />trucks, has advised that they have a contract under Florida Sheriff's Association Co -Op <br />Purchasing Program, Contract No. FS20-VEH18.0; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 62-13 of the City Code states that purchases made under competitive <br />bids with other governmental agencies, state general service administration contracts, or <br />federal, county or other governmental contracts are exempt from the City's bidding <br />requirement; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vendor has submitted a proposal for a 2023 Dump Truck, in an amount <br />not to exceed One Hundred Twenty -Six Thousand Six Hundred Twenty -Two Dollars <br />($126,622.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of a <br />Dump Truck, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty -Six Thousand Six Hundred <br />Twenty -Two Dollars ($126,622.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do <br />all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
