RESOLUTION NO. 2022- -44-q <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A CHARTER REVISION COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR <br />THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE CHARTER REVISION COMMISSION; <br />PROVIDING FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENTS TO THE <br />CITY COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 7.4 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") Charter, the <br />City Commission is required to establish a Charter Revision Commission ("CRC") at its first <br />regular meeting in December of 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Charter states the CRC shall consist of five (5) members including <br />four (4) from the Residential Areas from which the City Commissioners were elected; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter further provides the Mayor with the authority appoint (1) <br />person to the Charter Revision Commission who is a member of the Commission currently <br />serving a second consecutive term as Commissioner but who shall be a non-voting Charter <br />Revision Commission member; and <br />WHEREAS, the CRC is required to submit proposed Charter amendments to the City <br />Commission within 120 days after its creation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to create Charter Revision Commission in <br />accordance the Section 7.4 of the City's Charter. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Creation of Charter Revision Commission. Pursuant to its authority under <br />Section 7.4 of the City Charter, the City Commission hereby establishes a Charter Revision <br />Commission to review the City Charter and to propose amendments to the Charter. <br />Section 2. Appointment of Member. The City Commission hereby appoints the following <br />members to the Charter Revision Commission: <br />Mayor: <br />Jodie Skibinsky <br />Seat 1: <br />Henry Strong <br />Seat 2: <br />Sylvana Zirulnikoff <br />Seat 3: <br />Ivette Francola <br />Seat 4: <br />Robert Tacher <br />Non -Voting Member: <br />Jeniffer Viscarra <br />Section 3. Commencement of Work.
