LondoA±o, Human Resources and Risk Management Director <br />DATE: February 16, 2023 <br />RE: Approving an Increase in Spending Authority with Cigna, Eyemed, anc <br />Mutual of Omaha <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />On February 17, 2022 via Resolution no. 2022-3294 the City Commission approved the renewal of <br />insurance coverage with Cigna, Eyemed and Mutual of Omaha in an amount not to exceed the total <br />combined amount of $2,646,502.25 for the period of 3/1/2022 - 2/28/2023. <br />At that time, the amount presented was based on the following enrollment numbers for active <br />employees, COBRA Participants and Retirees (as of 2/1/2022): <br />Medical: 186 participants <br />Dental: 219 participants <br />Vision: 219 participants <br />Since that approval, the enrollment numbers have increased as follows: <br />Medical: 212 participants <br />Dental: 238 participants <br />Vision: 241 participants <br />The increase in enrollment numbers are due to vacant positions being filled, addition of dependents <br />Item Number: 10.A <br />
