*'Sp,9�4,ga 14R <br />F r F6S}A S <br />Tx aF sV�+ n <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />FROM: Mauricio Betancur, CMC, City Clerk <br />DATE: March 16, 2023 <br />RE: Approval of Appointments to the Environment Sustainability Advisor <br />Committee <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />In January of 2022, the City Commission established the Environment Sustainability Advisor, <br />Committee (ESAC) tasked with the responsibility of providing guidance and recommendations <br />regarding the City's efforts to provide and promote general environmental improvement trends, green <br />initiatives, and sustainable development, defined as a pattern of resource use that aims to meet <br />community needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met, not only in the <br />present, but in the indefinite future. <br />The ESAC will be composed of seven members (7). The Mayor is entitled to appoint the Chairpersoi <br />and one (1) additional appointment, the Vice Mayor is entitled to two (2) appointments, and the <br />remaining City Commissioners are entitled to one (1) appointment each. The Vice -Chairperson is tc <br />be selected by a majority vote of the committee. <br />The ESAC and its members will be governed by the Rules of Procedure that govern the Cit, <br />Commission, the Florida Sunshine and Public Records Laws, and the terms of the attached resolution. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Names of the appointed members of the ESAC are to be submitted. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />Item Number: 10.M <br />
