RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A 2022 FORD HYBRID EXPLORER, IN <br />AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED <br />THREE DOLLARS AND FIFTY-ONE CENTS ($44,803.51); AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, in March 2023, the City Commission authorized the Chief of Police to expend <br />federal forfeiture monies to fund the position of School Resource Sergeant ("SRS"); and <br />WHEREAS, the SRS will need to a vehicle to perform their duties and responsibilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Bartow Ford ("Vendor") has a 2023 Ford Hybrid Explorer ("Vehicle") readily <br />available for purchase; and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of the Vehicle will be made utilizing Charlotte County Contract <br />No. 2021060541; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13 (C) of the City's Code of Ordinances, purchases <br />made under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other <br />governmental contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies are exempt from <br />the City's competitive bidding requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the purchase of the Vehicle from the <br />Vendor, in an amount not to exceed Forty -Four Thousand Eight Hundred Three Dollars and <br />Fifty -One Cents ($44,803.51). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Vehicle Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />purchase of a 2023 Ford Hybrid Explorer from Bartow Ford, in an amount not to exceed Forty - <br />Four Thousand Eight Hundred Three Dollars and Fifty -One Cents ($44,803.51). <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
