REASONS: In February 2022, the City Commission approved an agreement with The Corradino Group, Inc fo Planning and Zoning Services, including Traffic Engineering. The City of Sunny Isles Beach has provide a free shuttle service for over 20 years. The original route was developed in cooperation with Miami - Dade County and evaluated for efficiencies in 2005. The City demographics have changed and transit opportunities have progressed since that time. The City is in need of a full, comprehensive review of the existing system, the performance of its current routes, the possibility of adding on -demand service, adjusting route timing and service hours and possibly expanding the route based on public input and community need (Study). The overall goal is to develop a transit system that will reduce vehicular traffic within our city and provide a better product for our residents. The Corradino Group are qualified to perform this Study and have been selected for engineerinf services through a CCNA bid. Their proposal was negotiated by our Purchasing Manager and i presented for approval in an amount not to exceed $55,950.00. Additionally, due to the unexpected departure of personnel in the Planning and Zoning Department, the City utilized the contracted services of The Corradino Group, Inc. to fill those voids.
