Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting July 15, 2021 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />7 <br />Public Speakers: None. <br /> <br />Commissioner Viscarra moved, and Commissioner Goldman seconded a motion to approve <br />the resolution. Resolution No. 2021-3214 was adopted by a voice vote of 4-0 in favor <br />[Mayor Scholl was absent]. <br /> <br />10G. Revised Memorandum: <br /> A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Requesting the <br />Relocation of its Police Department to the Outparcel Building Located at 18070 Collins <br />Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, 33160 and Formerly Known as Tony Roma’s (“Tony <br />Roma’s Space”); Providing for Conflicts; and Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Goldman & <br />Commissioner Lama reported. After discussions, it was the consensus of the Commission to <br />amend the Resolution to direct the City Manager to solicit proposals from qualified <br />architectural and engineering firms specializing in public safety facilities to conduct a study, <br />building analysis, and site assessment for the purpose of evaluating the feasibility of <br />maintaining the police department in the existing building, or constructing a new stand-alone <br />police department on other available city property based upon the Police Department’s <br />current and future needs. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Edelcup, Norman; Gates, Michael; Grozdanova, Rumania. <br /> <br />Commissioner Goldman moved, and Commissioner Lama seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2021-3215 was adopted by a voice vote of 4-0 in <br />favor [Mayor Scholl was absent]. <br /> <br />10H. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing the <br />City Manager to Sign or Renew All Required Contracts, Agreements, and Purchase Orders <br />that Affect the Health, Safety, or Welfare of the City, During the Summer Recess Period from <br />the Last City Commission Meeting in July 2021 through the First Regular Commission <br />Meeting in September 2021, Subject to After-the-Fact Ratification at the September 16, <br />2021, City Commission Meeting; Requiring Legal Review by the City Attorney for Said <br />Contracts and Agreements; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, City Manager Christopher Russo reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: None. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Goldman moved, and Commissioner Lama seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2021-3216 was adopted by a voice vote of 4-0 in favor [Mayor <br />Scholl was absent]. <br /> <br />10I. Add On: <br />A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving an <br />Agreement with Perkins +Will for Architectural and Engineering Design Services for the <br />Pedestrian Overpass Bridge to be Located at 18080 Collins Avenue, in an Amount Not to <br />Exceed $55,000.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit “A”; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute
