RESOLUTION NO. 2023- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE INVENTORY LIST OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />APPROPRIATE FOR USE AS AFFORDABLE HOUSING PURSUANT TO SECTION <br />166.0451, FLORIDA STATUTES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Section 166.0451, Florida Statutes, requires that every three (3) years <br />municipalities in the State of Florida prepare an inventory list of all real property within its <br />jurisdiction to which the municipality holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as <br />affordable housing; and <br />WHEREAS, the inventory list must include the address and legal description of the <br />property and specify if the property is vacant or improved; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said statute, the elected body of the municipality must review <br />the inventory list at a public hearing and make revisions if necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Planning & Zoning Director and City Staff have reviewed the <br />inventory of City -owned property, and have determined that there is no City -owned property <br />that is appropriate for use as affordable housing; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission reviewed the Inventory List attached hereto as Exhibit <br />"A," at a duly noticed public hearing held on September 21, 2023, and accepted the same; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds and declares that adoption of this resolution is in <br />conformance with the requirements of Section 166.0451, Florida Statutes, and is in the public <br />interest of the citizens of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval. Pursuant to Section 166.0451, Florida Statutes, the Inventory List of <br />City Owned Property Appropriate for Use as Affordable Housing attached hereto as Exhibit "A" <br />is hereby approved. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution, including publishing Exhibit "A" on the City's <br />website. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
