Th( <br />Police Department acquired two police Kgs which are currently training with their assigned handlers. <br />The purchase of this vehicle will allow the police department to replace a current K9 vehicle which is a <br />2015 model year. This vehicle will come fully equipped with the necessary K9 equipment needed. It <br />should be noted that the second police K9 handler is currently awaiting the arrival of a fully functional <br />Ford F150 K9 unit also from Bartow Ford which was purchased via general fund. <br />The Police Department is also seeking to replace license plate readers at ten sites that have reached <br />their end of life also using Local Law Enforcement Trust Funds via GSA contract 334220/GS-07F <br />0031W. The identified sites were installed in early 2019 and their effectiveness has diminished <br />because of their age and exposure to the salt air environment. The upgraded LPRs will have <br />ruggedized PC which will help in extending their life with this generation of system. This upgrade will <br />ensure the functionality and effectiveness of the LPR system will meet our expectations. The cost of <br />the upgrade will be $272,708.88 plus a 10% contingency for a total of $299,979.77. <br />The Police Department is seeking to use Local Law Enforcement Trust Funds to purchase enhance( <br />dispatch software for $19,380.00. The software will allow the police dispatch center to send a link to <br />Item Number: 10.0 <br />
