This review is overdue for an assessmeni <br />of his performance and salary, by almost two years. <br />On December 1, 2021, the City Commission unanimously appointed City Manager Stan Morris with <br />starting salary of $210,000. The prior City Manager's salary was $261,738.55. City Manager Morris ha! <br />overseen the day-to-day operations of the city, a staff of almost 300 people and a budget of $184 <br />million. <br />Highlighted below are some of the major accomplishments within the last two years. <br />1) Public Safety - Primary goal and direction by the City Commission. <br />Since my tenure I've seen firsthand how the Police Department has grown and flourished. Durin€ <br />these last two years, City Manager Morris led the positive changes, establishing a process anc <br />procedure for the hiring of the Police Chief. He selected Chief Eddie Santiago which was voted or <br />affirmatively and unanimously by the City Commission. He further established protocols and <br />procedures for both Lieutenant and Sergeant promotions. Due to his efforts, the city has added <br />thirteen police officers, fully staffed dispatch with six new police communications officers, increased <br />our traffic and marine patrols and instituted electronic ticketing. New police vehicles and equipment <br />were purchased with forfeiture funds outfitting our police department with crucial life safety <br />equipment. <br />Item Number: 10.0 <br />
