RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING CITYWIDE PARKING RATES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on June 20, 2024, via Ordinance No. 2024-614, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") amended Section 256-13 of the City's Code,of Ordinances to allow all parking meter rates and parking permit fees to be established by resolution, and amended from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to establish the citywide parking fees as more particularly described herein. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Establishment of Citywide Parking Fees. The City Commission hereby establishes the citywide parking fees, as follows: A. Parking Garages and Non-Beachside Parking Lots (1) Resident Rate: $2.00 per hour (must apply and qualify); (2) General Public Rate: $4.00 per hour. B. Beachside Parking Lots (1) Resident Rate: $3.00 per hour (must apply and qualify); (2) General Public Rate: $5.00. C. Annual Resident Only Parking Permit (where designated): $50.00 per month. D. Special Event Parking (outside normal daily operation): $50.00 per space not to exceed 12 hours. A refundable deposit of $500.00 will be required. E. Special Monthly Parking Permit (Residents Only): A permit may be issued parking of commercial and recreational vehicles underneath the William Lehman Causeway, provided the fees are paid: (1) Application fee: $100.00 per fiscal year; (2) Parking fee: $75.00 per space; (3) Transfer fee: $25.00 Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
