RESOLUTION 2024 -�� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INFORMATION EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SHARE INFORMATION FROM THE VIGILANT LICENSE PLATE READER SYSTEM, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Vigilant License Plate Reader System (the "System") is an electronic database used to assist law enforcement agencies in detection, identification and recovery of stolen vehicles, wanted persons, missing and/or endangered children/adults, and persons who have committed serious and violent crimes; and WHEREAS, the System can be utilized to assist in developing and pursuing leads in criminal investigations by locating suspects, witnesses, and victims, as well as for the creation and storage of offense reports; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Police Department ("MBPD") has elected to be the Lead Agency for statewide vetting of the System; and WHERAS, MBPD is willing to share information from the System with the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") Police Department ("SIBPD"); WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve an Information Exchange Agreement with MBPD to share information from the System with SIBPD, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves an Information Exchange Agreement with MBPD to share information from the Vigilant License Plate Reader System, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2.
