RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 2323 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN IN -KIND DONATION TO THE GIRL SCOUT TROOP AT THE NORMAN S. EDELCUP /SUNNY ISLES BEACH K -8 FOR THE USE OF SPACE AT PELICAN COMMUNITY PARK, IN AN ESTIMATED VALUE OF ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (S1,500.00) FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2014 -2015; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Girl Scout Troop at the Norman S. Edelcup /Sunny Isles Beach K -8 is in need of a place within the community in which to meet in the evening when parents can be more involved: and WHEREAS, the school is not available late in the evening for this purpose; and WHEREAS, space is available at Pelican Community Park on Friday evenings for one hour meetings-, and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to provide an in -kind donation for use of space within Pelican Community Park by the Girl Scout Troop at the Norman S. Edelcup/ Sunny Isles Beach K -8, in an estimated value of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the in -kind donation for the Girl Scout Troop at the Norman S. Edelcup /Sunny Isles Beach K -8 for use of space at Pelican Community Park for weekly meetings, in an estimated value of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) for School Year 2014 -2015. Section 2. Authoritv of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
