RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - � <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE PROJECT AGREEMENT <br />WITH BEA ARCHITECTS, INC., TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL <br />DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 18050 <br />COLLINS AVENUE, FORMERLY KNOWN AS TONY ROMAS, EXTENDING THE <br />AGREEMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL TWELVE MONTHS, ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on January 181h, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-3611, the City Commission of <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") approved a Project Agreement with BEA Architects, Inc. <br />("Firm") to professional architectural services for the property located at 18050 Collins Avenue, <br />formerly known as Tony Romas ("Property"), in an amount not to exceed $263,609.88; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project Agreement is set to expire on January 25, 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 18th, 2021, via Resolution No. 2021-3177, the City Commission <br />short listed four (4) architectural firms, in response to Request for Qualifications No. 20-07-01 <br />for Continuing Professional Services ("RFC"), pursuant to the Consultants' Competitive <br />Negotiation Act; and <br />WHEREAS, the City continues to require the Services of the Firm; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to <br />amend Section 7.1 the Project Agreement to extend the term for an additional twelve (12) <br />months with no allocation of additional funds required; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve a First Amendment to the Project <br />Agreement with the Firm to provide the Services for the Project, extending the term for an <br />additional twelve (12) months to January 25, 2026, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of First Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves a First <br />Amendment to the Project Agreement with BEA Architects, Inc. to provide professional <br />architectural services for the renovation of the property located at 18050 Collins Avenue, <br />formerly known as Tony Romas, for an additional twelve (12) months with no allocation of <br />additional funds required, to January 25, 2026, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2.
