RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - J l r S— <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING AN OFF -SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO <br />PERFORM PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS FROM SOUTH OF STATE ROAD <br />826 TO NORTH OF 178 STREET AND COLLINS AVENUE, ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT, <br />AND TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, pedestrian safety is a priority of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City is responsible for improvements and maintenance of its municipal <br />streets; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") will be performing work <br />on State Road A1A/Collins Avenue, from South of State Road 826 to North of 178th Street (the <br />"Project") as part of the FDOT Work Program, listed as Project No. FM# 451053-1-52-01, which <br />is fully funded by the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project includes work on 1701h Street, 172nd Street, 174th Street, and <br />178th Street ("Local Roads"), roads not on the State Highway System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project will include pedestrian safety improvements to the Local Roads; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to enter into an Off -System Construction and <br />Maintenance Agreement to authorize the FDOT to perform the Project, attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A"; and <br />WHEREAS, the City finds that it is in the best interest of its residents, visitors, and <br />stakeholders to approve this resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves an Off -System <br />Construction and Maintenance Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to <br />perform work on 170th Street, 172nd Street, 174th Street, and 178th Street, attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A". <br />@BCL@DC09DEC2.doc Page 1 of 2 <br />93 <br />
