RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING FLORIDA GOVERNOR RON <br />DESANTIS EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 25-44 AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE <br />EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT <br />EFFICIENCY TEAM; PROCLAIMING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH'S INTENTION <br />TO FULLY COOPERATE AND SUBMITTO A STATE FINANCIAL AUDIT, AND FOR THE <br />CITY TO ENGAGE IN AND LEAD ITS OWN INITIATIVE BY CONTINUING TO <br />CONDUCT ITS OWN FINANCIAL AUDITS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 24th, 2025, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis promulgated <br />Executive Order No. 25-44 - Ensuring Government Efficiency ("Executive Order"), which <br />established the Executive Office of the Governor ("EOG") Department of Government Efficiency <br />("DOGE"); and <br />WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 25-44 is presently in effect and shall sunset on March 31, <br />2026; and <br />WHEREAS, this initiative aims to identify and report unnecessary expenditures within <br />counties and municipalities, while promoting the most efficient use of government and taxpayer <br />resources, and ensure fiscal responsibility across the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") hereby affirms its intention to fully <br />cooperate with DOGE and participate in a comprehensive state financial audit as part of its <br />ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has a long history of maintaining strong financial oversight and <br />ensuring fiscal responsibility; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to implement its own initiative to use Artificial <br />Intelligence during the City's budget preparation process to ensure efficiency; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of it residents to <br />approve this resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Support of Executive Order No. 25-44. The City Commission hereby supports <br />Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Executive Order No. 25-44 and the establishment of the Executive <br />Office of the Governor Department of Government Efficiency, and hereby proclaims its intention <br />to fully cooperate and submit to a state financial audit. <br />@BCL@DC09E361.docx Page 1 of 2 640 <br />
