10 <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A <br />COMMUNITY AESTHETIC FEATURE AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE DESIGN, INSTALLATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF <br />THREE LOCAL IDENTIFICATION MARKERS KNOWN AS THE ENTRY SIGNAGE ON SR <br />856/WILLIAM LEHMAN CAUSEWAY AND ON SR A1A/COLLINS AVENUE; <br />AUTHORIZING THE. CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") desires to welcome the public and <br />more clearly identify the City's jurisdictional boundaries through the design, installation, and <br />maintenance of entryway signage, designed in accordance with the City's adopted brand <br />standards; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 18, 2025, via Resolution 2024-3652, the City Commission approved <br />conceptual designs for these entryway signs; and <br />WHEREAS, entryway signs are to be located on Florida Department of Transportation <br />("FDOT") owned rights -of -way, directly west of the intersection of eastbound SR 856/William <br />Lehman Causeway and SR A1A/Collins Avenue, at the southern City limit along SR A1A/ Collins <br />Avenue, south of Bayview Drive, and at the north City limit along SR A1A/Collins Avenue, south of <br />195th Street; and <br />WHEREAS, as a precondition to the City installing the entryway signage, FDOT requires that <br />the City enter into a Community Aesthetic Feature Agreement ("CAF Agreement") providing for <br />the City to fund all costs for the design, installation, and maintenance of the signage; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that replacing the existing entryway signs will <br />enhance the City's identity and appearance and is in the best interest of its residents, visitors, and <br />stakeholders; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the FDOT CAF Agreement, attached <br />hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. That the City Commission hereby approves the FDOT CAF <br />Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is hereby <br />authorized to execute said Agreement, to execute future renewals and extensions of the CAF <br />Agreement without further City Commission approval, provided said renewals and extensions are <br />first approved as to form and legal sufficiency by the City Attorney. The City Manager is further <br />authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br />Page 1 of 2 62 <br />
