RESOLUTION NO. 2014- 2,2)4Cd A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS NO. 14 -07 -01 AND ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH LYNX CONSTRUCTION i17ANAGEMENT FOR MAJOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS TO GOVERNMENT CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (S2,200,000.00) FROM THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF TWO MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY -ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY -TWO DOLLARS AND SIXTY -SIX CENTS (S2,871,792.66), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A'; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEi%IENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City is in need of a contractor for major maintenance and repairs to various City structures and facilities including City Hall. Commission Chambers, Pelican Community Park and Heritage Park, and issued RFP No. 14 -07 -01 of which three (3) responses were received: and WHEREAS, the proposal submitted by Lynx Construction Management was determined to be the lowest responsible and responsive bidder for repairs to the Government Center and the Government Center Garage: and WHEREAS, Lynx Construction Management is qualified, willing and able to provide the desired services on the terms and conditions set forth herein: and WHEREAS, while Lynx Construction ivianagement's base bid total was 52.871,792.66, for an overall repair project that included; in addition to Government Center Generator Upgrades, the proposal also included repairs to the Government Center, and to Pelican Community Park and Heritage Park: and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to award Bid No. 14 -07 -01 to Lynx Construction Management, for major maintenance and repairs to various City structures and facilities: and WHEREAS. the City Commission desires to enter into an Agreement with Lynx Construction Management for repairs to Government Center, including concrete crack and stucco repair. stain repair, building envelope waterproofing and sealing, replacement of parking garage expansion joints, various repairs to existing trench drain systems, fountain waterproofing and file /wall repair along with a variety of smaller repair items such as the replacement or repair of sprinkler heads and escutcheons, door hardware, camera housings, stainless steel rail and wall pack light fixtures and improving ventilation in stair vases 4 and 5, included in the overall cost for this project is an allowance for a full roof evaluation for both City Hall and Commission Chambers that will be the basis for possible future roof repair projects, in an amount not to exceed Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars (S2,200,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A„ R2014- Lqm Construction Govt Ctr Repairs Up 14 -07 -01 Paee I of 2
