RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 35 Z, <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID NO. 14- <br />10-02 TO AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR <br />DESIGNEE TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH <br />SOUTHERN UNDERGROUND INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR SMALL <br />CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AT VARIOUS CITY FACILITIES <br />AND LOCATIONS, PROVIDED THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />REVIEW SUCH AGREEMENTS FOR FORM AND LEGAL <br />SUFFICIENCY, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A'; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City is in need of a general contractor to provide continuing services, on <br />an as- needed basis, for small construction projects in the City, and issued Bid Noy 14 -10 -02 of <br />which one (1) response was received: and <br />WHEREAS, there are a variety of small construction projects to be addressed including <br />but not limited to emergency repairs, for non - project specific unit costs in order to undertake <br />needed construction services on an as- needed and as- requested basis: and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal submitted by Southern Underground Industries. Inc. was <br />determined to be a responsible and responsive bidder for small construction projects at various <br />Citv facilities and locations; and <br />WHEREAS. Southern Underground Industries. Inc. is qualified, willing and able to <br />provide the desired services on the terms and conditions set forth herein: and <br />WHEREAS. the Cite wishes to award Bid No. 14 -10 -02 to and authorize the City Manager <br />or designee to enter into Agreements with Southern Underground Industries, Inc. to provide <br />continuing services on an as- needed basis for small construction projects in the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in this resolution are incorporated <br />herein by reference as if fully set forth herein. <br />Section 2. Award of Bid and Authorization of City Manager. The Citv Commission hereby <br />awards Bid No. 14 -10 -02 to and authorizes the City Manager or designee to enter into Agreements <br />with Southern Underground Industries.
