City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Edward Santiago, Chief of Police <br />DATE: February 19, 2026 <br />RE: Authorization to Increase Purchase Threshold with Federal Eastern <br />International, LLC <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The Police Department is requesting authorization to increase the spending authority for Federal <br />Eastern International, LLC. Due to ongoing operational demands, equipment replacement needs, and <br />the continued requirement to maintain officer safety and operational readiness, the department <br />anticipates the need to make additional purchases from this vendor. <br />As such, the department is requesting an increase in the total blanket purchase order (13130) amount <br />authorized with Federal Eastern International, LLC to an amount not to exceed $110,000.00 for FY26, in <br />order to ensure uninterrupted access to necessary equipment and continued support of departmental <br />operations. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />The purchases will be made on an "as needed" basis by cooperative purchase via The Interlocal <br />Purchasing System (TIPS), Contract #250101. The purchase will be accomplished by Cooperative <br />Purchase via Request for Proposal (RFP) #250101, initiated by The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), <br />whereby Federal Eastern International, LLC, was one of the successful vendors contracted to provide <br />Safety Equipment, Supplies and Services. <br />The contract is good through March 31, 2028. The contract available under TIPS has been awarded by <br />Item Number: 9.E <br />664 <br />
