RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH NEON <br />SIGNS SOLUTIONS, INC. FOR THE REMOVAL, FABRICATION, AND INSTALLATION <br />OF MONUMENT SIGNS THROUGHOUT THE CITY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($15,000.00), ATTACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AMENDMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 20, 2025, via Resolution No. 2025-3799, the City Commission of <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") approved an Agreement with Neon Signs Solutions, Inc. <br />(the "Contractor") to remove, fabricate, and install new monument signs (the "Services"), in an <br />amount not to exceed $950,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor is responsible for work associated with three (3) monuments <br />located within Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") Rights -of -Way, including the <br />William Lehman Causeway monument and the north and south Collins Avenue welcome signs; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, FDOT requires additional liability insurance coverage as a condition of <br />permitting the aforementioned monuments within its Rights -of -Way ("Additional Insurance"), <br />requiring additional funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor has requested a time extension of six (6) months, through <br />August 23, 2027, to allow sufficient time for completion of the Services ("Time Extension"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve a First Amendment to the Agreement with the <br />Contractor approving the Time Extension and the additional funds in an amount not to exceed <br />Fifteen Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($15,000.00), to cover the costs of the Additional <br />Insurance, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY. <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of First Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves a First <br />Amendment to the Agreement with the Contractor approving the Time Extension and the <br />additional funds in an amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars and No Cents <br />($15,000.00), to cover the costs of the Additional Insurance, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said <br />Amendment. <br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager.
