Santiago, Chief of Police <br />DATE: February 19, 2026 <br />RE: Express Support for Proposed Amendments to Miami -Dade County's Noise <br />Ordinance <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />Miami -Dade County has proposed an ordinance amending Section 21-28 of the Code of Miami -Dade <br />County, Florida, relating to noise regulations. The proposed amendment modifies the "plainly audible" <br />standard for vehicles, vessels, and floating structures, reducing the distance from 100 feet to 25 feet, <br />while maintaining the 100-foot standard for buildings and non -floating structures.
