RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - -� <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, ACKNOWLEDGING THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIA'S <br />FURTHER INVASION OF UKRAINE AND EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE PEOPLE <br />OF UKRAINE; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT COPIES OF THIS <br />RESOLUTION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale, <br />unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine, following its illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 <br />and occupation of parts of the Donbas region; and <br />WHEREAS, the international community recognizes the sovereignty and full territorial <br />integrity of Ukraine within its 1991 borders; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the people of Ukraine have demonstrated <br />determined resistance in defense of their country; and <br />WHEREAS, February 24, 2026, marks the fourth anniversary of the Russian Federation's <br />full-scale, unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that has continued to threaten <br />international peace and security and undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of <br />Ukraine; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to acknowledge <br />the Fourth Anniversary of Russia's further invasion of Ukraine and expresses its support for the <br />people of Ukraine. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Acknowledgment and Support. The City. Commission hereby acknowledges the <br />fourth anniversary of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and expresses its <br />continued support for the people of Ukraine. <br />Section 2. Direction to the City Clerk. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of <br />this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do <br />all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br />Section 4. Effective Date.
