RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - _ �23 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br />MAY 2026, AS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach recognizes the importance of promoting mental <br />health awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging access to support, resources, and <br />education for residents of all ages; and <br />WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month is observed annually during the month of <br />May to increase public understanding of mental health and to encourage individuals, families, <br />and communities to support mental wellness; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2026 theme, "More Good Days, Together," emphasizes the importance <br />of connection, compassion, advocacy, and community support in helping create more good days <br />for individuals and families; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the issuance of a proclamation <br />recognizing May 2026 as Mental Health Awareness Month in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of a proclamation recognizing May 2026, as Mental Health Awareness Month in the <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
